This week the Aldi produce prices sure are similar to each other. Almost all stores have pineapple on sale, and a few stores are lucky to have a great price on Artisan lettuce.

4/1 Aldi Ad: Raised Garden Bed, Pierogies & More

This first week in April is all about your garden at Aldi, as you can find everything from a raised garden bed, to landscaping fabric and gardening tools on sale at Aldi. The only things I feel are missing from this garden version of the Aldi ad is a compost bin and a rain barrel. Now, if ALDI came out with affordable Gardenline versions of these two items, then I would definitely bring my hard-earned money to Aldi.

ALDI Diapers Shopping Trip - Saved $14

I knew there wasn't room in the budget for a trip to ALDI this week, but I chose to go anyway. After the harsh realization that we were out of diapers, I just could not pass ALDI's sales price of $4.99 for a jumbo pack of Aldi Diapers. I managed to stick it through all week, because we turned it into toilet training week. Luckily it is going really well, and my two-year-old son now only uses diapers at night, and whenever we are out and about.

Of course going to ALDI meant picking up some great ALDI deals, which sent me way over my budget for the week. At least I now have my pantry fully stocked, and I do not need to pay any high prices for a while.

I love the Artisan lettuce, which makes a great salad together with my homegrown cherry tomatoes, and I love the price of the colored peppers too.

I could have price matched the chicken with a different local store to get the price lower at Walmart, but in the end I chose to buy meat at ALDI because of the quality.

I won't be picking up tomatoes this week, because my garden is finally giving us plenty of fresh tomatoes. I am definitely picking up some of the Artisan Lettuce though, because I just cannot get lettuce to grow here in South Florida. This week there are a lot of new price cuts at Aldi, and you can especially find lots of great price cuts on dairy and juice. I actually ran out of diapers this weekend, to my big surprise, so I am very excited to see that the Aldi price cut on Aldi diapers is still going on. After an Aldi break last week due to spring break, my produce drawer and the fruit bowl was looking very empty, and an Aldi visit was necessary. I was able to do some price matching at Walmart to get a low price on lettuce and cabbage, but I saved the rest of the produce budget for Aldi.

I made  a quick trip to Aldi today, but I did not buy much, as I took advantage of the Walmart price match guarantee to get cheap produce there as well.

Aldi Birthday Cake Shopping - I Saved $10 (Savings Linky)

On Wednesday I went Aldi shopping for ingredients for my son's birthday cake. This has been a very busy week (which is why I am behind with posting too), because my middle son is turning five this week, which means party planning, school celebration and more. I have the feeling that there will be more guest as my middle son's party than at my oldest son's birthday party, because this time I have actually gotten several RSVPs, whereas there was none last time. This means we are in need of a bigger cake, and I have decided to make it myself this time around to put a very special touch on it.  Today I made a white pirate cake with lemon zest, but I came to the conclusion that my favorite chocolate cake will be a better choice for the big party birthday cake.
