I got quite a disappointment at ALDI this week, but it was all my own fault. I had been planning on making a duck for the guys at Christmas (the girls in our home are vegetarians), but the ducks were all gone. I knew it was a risk waiting to buy the duck, but our freezer is tiny (the over the fridge kind), and there were still a bunch of ducks left last week.
So now I have to hunt down a duck somewhere (not literally of course), and I know it won't be at ALDI price.
Still, ALDI shopping was great as always with lots of great prices on produce, and one of my favorite deals lately is the organic pears, which are cheaper than regular pears elsewhere. Our teen son goes through a lot of apples and pears each week, and it's my job to always keep the fruit bowl full. Thankfully I have teamed up with ALDI to keep it happening.
Did you pick up any of the speciality candy at ALDI this holiday season. I picked up a big box of European chocolates for $3.99! What a deal! It's going to make a great gift too, and it tastes better than some of the $10 boxes of chocolate I have seen elsewhere.
I was also thrilled to see Florida strawberries in the store again this week, and at $3.59 it is a splurge I don't mind. The kids need all the vitamin C they can get these days, and at ALDI prices I'm all for shopping "expensive" fruits.
